The Taunton Retirement Board has approved a 3% COLA effective July 1, 2020 for all eligible retirees and survivors of the system who retired on or before June 30, 2019.  At its March 25th 2020 board meeting, member Thomas A. Please Note:  The City of Taunton has approved a health insurance premium holiday.  Therefore eligible retirees & survivors under the HMO or PPO plan will have their premiums adjusted over the next couple of months to recover the refund due.  If you are eligible for a refund, your health premium will be adjusted to ZERO for the month of May.  Then there will be a further adjustment in the month of June to complete the refund.  Starting in July, you will revert... Perseverance and the desire to serve the members of the Taunton Retirement System were definitely attributes that finally placed Fire Lieutenant Thomas “Tom” Bernier as an elected member to the Board.  After four attempts at running, Bernier topped the ticket in the recently held retirement board election on December 5, 2019.  With strong support from Taunton Firefighters Local 138, Bernier received 284 votes to win a three-year term that will run from 01/01/2020 thru 12/31/2022....
