At a recent election of the Taunton Retirement Board held on November 10, 2022, incumbent board member Thomas A. Bernier won re-election to the five-member board with a total of 460 votes. His two challengers were Zachary Sousa (Light Plant engineer) with 184 votes and Richard Calderon (Procurement officer) with 25 votes. Bernier’s term is for three (3) years and will run from January 1, 2023 thru December 31, 2025.
Says Bernier “I am humbled and thankful to all those who took the time to vote. I promise to continue working diligently to protect the assets of the retirement system, to seek to increase the COLA benefits for retirees, and preserve and enhance your retirement benefits. Thank you for placing your faith in me for another term. I am happy to have this opportunity and pledge to continue to do my best on your behalf.”
